This is really just an attempt to organize my artwork, which I've managed to get in an accessible state at last - some of this stuff was done in 2000. Don't ask when more will be added, because I quite frankly don't know.
Daria Fanart
Andrea
Andrea as Morticia Addams (who else?). Done in 2000, and only posted because the world needs more Andrea makeovers.
Brittany
Brittany as Ace from Doctor Who, 2001 version. You don't want to see the old one, trust me. I did this solely for the juxtaposition... or something. (You know. It made no sense whatsoever.)
Candid Janecam
This is my first good Daria fanart (that's "good" as in "non-practicing artist trying to draw other people's stuff" good). The original graced the back cover of a notebook. 2000 production.
Daria and Christmas
Latest of the 2000 artwork, if memory serves, and drawn at the correct time of year. The original was just a pencil outline and said the following under it: "Happy happy, joy joy. Am I done yet?"
Daria has a Music Video Moment
Drawn almost immediately after I saw the video for "Pinch Me" - I know her thumbs-down hand looks terrible, but I just *had* to post it. Yet another 2000 piece.
Everybody's a Cynic...
Drew this... ages ago. I think fall 2000, but I'm not exactly sure. Not the world's greatest drawing, and not in the world's greatest shape either - I use it to block the glare from the computer desk's light. But it's still artwork, so it's here.
Fanfic illustration - "Jesse's Girl"
Yes, I did an illustration for one of my own fanfics. (Mainly because I didn't have to draw people for it. XD) Done in 2000-ish.
Fun With Static Electricity
Don't remember precisely how this one came about, but I did use a copy of it on my math folder once. (If I knew where it went, I'd have included my lovely drawing of Andrea from that umseries.) Honestly, the color looks much better in the original (I used Milky pens on it - good in theory, not in scanning). 2000 production.
Jane
This is from the back of my Spanish folder. Blame the little tiny purple highlighter that started doodling and turned it into her hair. Fall 2001 production.
Quinn as the Aqua Chick
And that the best description I can give, in a way. I'll have to look up the name. The outfit's from one of the photos in Aqua's second album's CD booklet thing. With all that pink how could I not do it?
Good Omens Fanart
Since there's no way in the forseeable future I'll be getting it up here, I put it online someplace else. You can look at it now, at any rate. (Might come back later and do more sensible link organization for the things.)
Hitchhiker's Fanart
Chemistry Folder (back)
When a white folder is staring you in the face, you have to do *something* to it. This is final proof I have WAY too much time on my hands. Done fall 2001.
Oh no, not again.
More or less what it sounds like, if you've read the book and know what the hey I'm talking about. It's amazing the kind of drawings one can do when given a piece of paper, a box of colored pencils, and a room also occupied by eight to ten five-year-olds. Summer 2001 prouction.
"Any Side's Up" Illustrations
Jane (NOT Lane!)
Many praises to the Andrea Haircut! And take note of that messenger bag, this girl lives out of it the vast majority of the time. (It was another drawing experiment that subsequently added a facet to the character.) 2002 production.
Liana
Our Herione, at least as far as the story is concerned. ::masses rejoice:: The shirt was an experiment I'll probably never try again, but at least I know how it works. (It doesn't.) 2002 production.
Staloris
Doubles as a close-up of something we'll get to in a minute. First character drawing I did, though I didn't kow she was a character at the time. Early May 2002, as can be proven by the Great Overplaying of the 80's Music.
Staloris (on an off day)
Drew it on the back of a Spanish worksheet, which should explain the seemingly random lines in the background. Inspired by... who knows what. Probably the "talk to your characters" challenge thingy. December 2002.
Valerie
Possibly the best thing about this picture is she looks as bitchy as she's supposed to. 2002 piece.
Miscellany
Accidental Photography, Lesson I
I have no idea how old these two pictures are, but I was about eight at the time. And the camera I was using absolutely sucked - I don't have it on hand to tell you not to buy it. I was aiming for some ferns, and Dad's hand got a guest spot. Looks like it goes on the Sistine Chapel's ceiling or something.
Accidental Photography, Lesson II
This was also before I knew you were supposed to roll down the window before taking a picture from a car window. Then again, if I'd done that I might have missed the picture (which I think is in the vicinity of San Francisco). My parents didn't even notice the bridge when we passed it.
Attempted Sunglasses
Drew it while I was in Austin, actually (late June 2002), but didn't scan it for some odd reason. Done as a precursor to some Crowley fanart I was considering - I have this chronic problem with making the sides of glasses (of any kind) look like the same factory may have made them. (And then when I *did* said fanart, I changed the type of glasses altogether. But i still like the name I gave this one.)
Couch, Book, and Reader
Or maybe it's a magazine - who knows? Did this for the school's first not-really-annual literary magazine (put out May-ish 2001), which is prolly why it looks like Quinn but it isn't. Had to be black-and-white and on a quarter of a page. I like the couch. It's the only couch I've ever tried to draw, and it worked out very well.
Mourning the Radio Star (Part the First)
The last thing I drew in the so-called Daria style. You can definitely call it a reaction piece, since I was listening to "Video Killed the Radio Star" ad nauseam. (I told Mom later she should really be glad I know what headphones are, as she detests that song.) 2002 production.
Mourning the Radio Star (Part the Second)
And this is a close-up of the previous one. Doubles as a character drawing, as I've pointed out already. I especially like the hair on this. It looks like hair, as opposed to some unseen-for-good-reasons "realistic" Daria characters I did a while back. 2002 production too also.
Nod to Calvin and Hobbes
This is what I do when I'm bored on an airplane... and during the layover... and on the second flight of two. There's one C&H strip in particular where Calvin is building a snow monster eating his house, but you can only tell from an aerial view. Give me a lawnmower and free reign at school (that is indeed a vague drawing of the building), and this is what will happen. 15th June 2K2, in your only exact dating on this page. (Side note - Geggy Tah does some good music for drawing overhead views of bushes. XD)
Saturday Sunset
...Well, all right, I don't think I took the picture on a Saturday - could have, but probably didn't. I'm callin git a Saturday sunset because I enjoy Good Omens far far too much. Those who have read the book can probably put the pieces together from there; those who haven't should read it. late summer/early fall 2002.
Scuba-Diver Chick
When my friend and I were about ten, we decided to send some artwork to the local paper for the kids' section - we kept the best of three and sent the other two in. This is, obviously, the best of the three. My poineer girl did get in the paper, and I can't recall waht the third drawing was. (I didn't scan the pioneer girl because the only copy I've got is the shrunk-down newspaper printout.)
Squeegee Monster!
Another day-care production, inspired directly by a song for little kids and indirectly by the Muppet Empire. I wasn't trying to draw a Muppet but I did anyway. Summer 2001 production.
